A moment of great significance in a child’s faith formation, the reception of First Holy Communion marks the beginning of a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. On 31 October, the Primary School of St. Bridget’s Convent celebrated this special occasion as 141 young communicants received the Eucharist for the first time.
Having undergone a period of spiritual preparation and instruction, the children approached this important day with a growing understanding of the sacrament and its significance in their Christian lives.
Throughout the celebration of the Holy Mass, they participated with reverence and devotion. The reception of the Eucharist was undoubtedly the most significant moment of the occasion, as each child, accompanied by their parents, approached the altar to receive Jesus for the first time.
One of the most touching moments of the celebration was the children’s musical tribute to their parents through the song ‘Le Kiri Karala’. Their heartfelt expression of love and gratitude added a personal dimension to the occasion.
Following the Holy Mass, the children gathered in the Primary School hall, where they received their First Holy Communion certificates and commemorative sacramentals.
As our young Bridgetines cherish the memory of this special day, may the presence of Christ in their lives be a constant source of comfort, strength and inspiration.
